Martin Turf Farm

Martin Turf Farm

I'm fortunate to work with a lot of hard-working business owners. The ones that get up before the sun rises and come home after the sun sets. David and his wife Sara contacted me at the end of 2016 to help them name the farm that's been in existence since the late 1800's and that their family has owned since the 50s. I'm a sucker for history and legacy, so I was on board immediately. Previously part of the farm had been sectioned for row crops and another for sod. Seeing a need in the area for quality sod at affordable prices, David and Sara decided to convert the entire farm into sod production. Hence, Martin Turf Farm. The old name, Old Happy Farms, was awesome too, but we decided that Martin Turf Farm would work better in the market.

I wanted to create an identity that worked as hard as they do. We developed a system of typography that feels new but retained a vintage feel. A modern heritage, if you will. We're really excited about the brand identity we were able to develop and will be moving that into a new web experience over the next few months.
